What are “Focused” and “Other” in Inbox?

You see “Focused” and “Other” tabs above the Inbox list and wonder what they filter.

1. Step 1 — Preconditions

   Focused Inbox must be enabled for the account, and you must be viewing the Inbox folder without certain special filters.

2. Step 2 — Focused tab

   Shows messages the client/provider treats as higher priority for this inbox.

3. Step 3 — Other tab

   Shows the remainder — newsletters, machine-generated mail, etc., depending on classification.
